Outfit/ I like short shorts...

It's really in-between weather at the moment, quite cloudy and teasing you it's going to rain, but hot at the same time! So the decision had to made to either be a little bit chilly or too hot, I went for the little chilly. My grandparents are back for 2 weeks as they live aboard, so we decided to go on a little trip. We ended up going to a miniature zoo, and have a lovely time! I took some pictures while we were going round, and I have some outfit pictures too.

I actually quite liked my outfit, I'm a little uncomfortable in these shorts as they are I bit bummy, but I thought if I wore a blazer and covered up on the top it would be suitable. I think it is a lot more suitable covered up, I love how the blazer matches the colour of bow in the flipflops. 

I love the acid wash effect on the shorts, think it separates them from the bog standard denim and the rose gold details are gorgeous too. The gold bar necklace is my new addiction, I wear it all the time, it just seems to go with everything -as least I think it does!-. The flipflops were a great find, they remind me of the Ted Baker ones but for a fraction of the price from Pilot.

Such cute animals, the massive fluffy bunny rabbit is my favourite! I can't believe I managed to get a picture of a baby wallaby in her mamma's pouch! Sorry if these pictures bored you -they ae nit very fashion or beauty related-, I just thought they were too cute to go unseen.

Weekly Wishlist #3

Whoops, haven't done this post for a while! I hadn't even noticed, oh dear! But anyway lets get on with it, there's not that much here this time as I feel like the only thing I'm actually craving this week is Primark and as they don't have a website so proves to be a difficultly, but of course I still have a few bits to show you!

1.Mesh Panel Top- I think this t-shirt really hits on the sort luxe trend which I just happen to love, with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and some black heeled sandals you've got yourself a gorgeous outift!
2.Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum- This perfume smells lovely, I'm not even going to been to describe it sooo... 'Crisp top green notes and sparkling Ginger deliver an instantaneous burst of vivid radiance. At the heart, exotic Tiger Orchid and sensual Tea Rose combine for a seductive floral scent. Vibrant base notes with Cedarwood, leaves a seductive aroma on the skin.' It's slightly expensive but I'm willing to make the sacrifice of my money for this.
3.PU Sleeve Cardigan- This jacket is stunning, it's so sophisticated and would add a touch of class to any basic outfit. I love navy and black together, I remember when I was younger there was a huge taboo against wearing blue and black together, I'm so glad everyone got over that!
4.Cotton and Metal Wrapped Necklace- I love a statement necklace and this is perfect. I have a lot of gold necklaces so having a black necklace would make a really nice change to pair with an outfit.I also love the effect that thread or fabric necklaces give.
5.Nude Shoe- I'm a sucker for heels! I have about 30 pairs of heels but I only get to wear them on a rare basis so I am trying to limit myself to buying heels. But these gorgeous lace nude heels just managed to slide their way onto my wishlist. Honestly I think these are the nicest heels ever, and would definitely in my Summer heels collection.
6.Bleach Wash Jeans- Oh jeans, I do have some issues with you, I believe I've already had a rant about this in my 'Wish I Could Wear A Midi' post so I'll save you the bore of hearing that again. But these jeans were a perfect fit for me in petite sizing and I wanted them so badly, unfortunately at the time of trying them on I was moneyless -very sad-.
7.Motel Dungaree Playsuit- Last but definitely not least, is this Paisley blue playsuit, I adore the print of anything like this! It just reminds me of the pattern on china plates, which I obviously seem to like which is weird... I can't wait to get my hands on some dungarees, I might get a cheap pair from Primark first before spending £48 on this one!

Dr Martens Love.

I having a total obsession with Dr Martens, whether it's boots, flats or bags,I just love them. I wish I had an unlimited supply of money because Dr Martens are not the cheapest of the bunch, but they are copies of them every where, but when it comes to Dr Martens I feel like you can't beat the real thing!

These all so cool, it makes me laugh how my style goes from girly school-girl to grunge-alert! I don't really think I have a style, some days I love a floaty skirt with shoes like the dotty cut-out ones here. Or something like my 'homies' t-shirt with the purple tinted boots, maybe I just like the change it up a little! Enough of my rambling though.. moving on to the items!

1.1460 W Boot- These are the classic DM style boots, just with a bit of a re-vamp on the colour. I love the shimmer on it just takes a different route from the standard matte or shiny finish.

2.Pascal Boot- These are gorgeous, if I had seen these before I brought my white DM's I would probably have just got these instead. I feel like they maybe quite difficult to style as there is just so many colours to them!

3.Castel Boot- I just love flower print on shoes, and on boots it just loves even cooler. The denim coloured fabric just makes it awesome, if you wanted to attempt the double denim look a good start would be pairing a denim shirt with these if your a bit scared of this trend.

4.Grace Boot- These are sooooo cute, I just love the ribbon being used as laces, I think it looks great against the shininess of the boots.

5.Caryen Shoe- I adore these! The cut-out detail is just so cute, pairing these with some white lace socks, a white summer dress and a trilby hat.

6.Mariel Shoe- I would feel like a was back in primary school with these shoes on but I don't even care, I need them in my life. They also have versions with plain black ribbon on the them and I'm not sure which I prefer!?

7.Tara Shoe- Got to have a pair of heels in here somewhere! These just look like brogues with a heel which I think it so cool, the peep toe and the sling back is a really nice touch as well, with some skinny jeans and a really nice jacket these would look gorgeous.

8.11" Leather Satchel- I just love the pattern on this bag, I'm going to say its like a yellow,white and pink leopard print-but it's probably not!- I'd love to have this bag to add a pop of colour to a monochrome or just boring outfit.

9.Leather Holdall- This is such a sophisticated bag, adding this to the outfit with the peep toed heels would just be perfect. I love the burgundy colour and just the smoothness of the bag just makes it look much more expensive than it actually is.

Homies and Leather.

This lookbook is based on the Homies t-shirt that I showed in my previous post. If you haven't seen that then, I shall inform you that I go this top from Camdem but I know that you can get them on ebay for around the same price, depending on which seller you go to.

I really wanted to increase the indie vibe of the whole outfit, so I paired it with a wet look skater skirt and some converse style trainers with lacey socks. This may not sound that indie, but it really worked, paired with the 'NannyState' hat it just makes it so incredibly cool! You could even wear this with a black bowler hat which would just add to the whole individuality of the outfit.

I kept my jewellery quite simplistic but still attention grabbing at the same time, the bracelet with the bright studs really stands out against the whole monochrome look. Also the spiked necklace adds another layer to the otherwise fairly simple t-shirt.

Wish I Could Wear a Midi.

I think that midi dresses look so sophisticated and I really want some! But I justdon't think I can wear them, and I'll tell you for why -little Gavin and Stacey quote there for you-... Anyway, the first reason I just don't think I could pull them off it because of my height. I feel like I go on about my height way too much, but it is a real inconvenience when it comes to clothing, dresses will be too long, skirts and tops as well. The main problem I have is with jeans, they are just so out of proportion with my legs, as they need to be wide at the thigh, go in at the knee and out again, so they are baggy in all the wrong places on me! And the second reason is that my boyfriend didn't like them, I know this shouldn't really matter but his opinion means so much to me -soppy-. Moving on from that, lets look at some dresses.

Love love love this, most midi dresses that I see around are either strapless or have the regular thick straps. So I think that these wet look cap sleeve is just so awesome, and for only £14.99, probably the best midi ever! Get yours at Missguided.

Again I like this dress as it's different to the standard one. The panelling against the lace insert looks so elegant, which I think looks lovely with the length of the dress. Also the high neck gives the illusion of a longer body, which for people my height is never is never a bad thing! -I'm 5ft2" by the way- You can get this stunning dress from Oasis at ASOS.    

This dress would be so perfect for work, sometimes a short dress just isn't acceptable but a maxi dress may be seen as too dressy or too slouchy depending on the style. But with this dress, you are showing an appropriate amount of leg without looking like you're trying too hard. ASOS are doing a good job with midi dresses.

I think that lace looks lovely in black, and especially being on a midi dress! The lace insert on the waist highlights the silhouette as a midi flat can make you look very flat if you have a slim figure. You can get this from Boohoo. 

I just love the casualness of this piece. The colour makes it look like it's completely denim which makes it even cooler! I always think the way that Topshop has styled is brilliant, I'm definitely going to invest in some chunky heeled boots too!

I actually found it quite difficult to find midi dresses online, Primark has some very nice ones, but these have definitely been the best ones that I have seen!

Nothing wrong with wearing a guy's hat.

I'm very partial to stealing your man's clothes, accessories and -well maybe not shoes, due to sizing issues!- But I finally got hold of his precious hat, tried it on and fell in love with it! I'm not allowed to keep it though which is very sad, but I'm going shopping tomorrow so I'm going to pick some up from Primark or somewhere!

I just love the fit of it, it doesn't hang too far off of your head, so it doesn't look floppy which means it doesn't feel like it's going to slide off every second. Burgundy is also a favourite colour of mine, I love it for accessories. The 'Nanny State' on the edge of the hat is just so cool, and it completes the piece.

You can get the hat from Bank, obviously it's form the men's section though! I can't believe it's men's it looks so uni-sex to me but oh well.

Loving the bun.

Recently, when I've been having a bad hair day I resort  to the simple yet sophisticated donut bun. It's so perfect for a laid back look, but still with a touch of 'look at the effort I've put in'. There are many ways to do this but I just find that this way works the best for me.

What you'll need:

A hair band.

A 'donut' -make sure you match your hair colour!-

Some hair grips.

Hairspray.

Step 1: Do your normal thing before putting your hair in a high ponytail, whether that's brushing your hair or just leaving it wild for a little extra texture- that's what I do-. You want to just be able to see the peak of the ponytail.

Step 2: Lift your ponytail in the air, so you are gripping the ends in your fist. You then want to take your donut and pull your ponytail though it so that the ends are just long enough to tuck around the bun.

Step 3: With the ends that are sticking out of the donut you want to fold over the donut and tuck them underneath.

Step 4: Now for the tricky bit! Holding the donut with both hands roll the donut once down your hair. At this point you want to tuck any loose bits of hair back under the bun.

Step 5: Repeat the roll once again. You should start to see your hair forming -well  donut shape!- If you can still see the netting on the donut then separate the hair slightly to fill the gaps and try to keep them in place on the next roll.

Step 6: Continue rolling the bun until you reach the top of your head.

Step 7: Secure the bun with some hair grips at the front of the bun.

Step 8: If you fancy messing it up a bit then you can pull some of the hair a the top of your head out.

Step 9: Finally you wanna give your hair a god old spray with some hairspray to keep it in place!

Battle of the Bright Dresses.

For the third part of the trilogy I decided to show you some of my favourite bright/neon dresses. Out of these three trends I definitely think that this one is my favourite! Bright colours just make everybody so happy including me- and just feel genuinely great. So let's get started!

I thought I'd start of with my favourite dress -I think there is going to be a lot of controversy over this, but of some reason I just love it!- The neon green against the black geometric pattern just looks so cool. You could pair this with some simple black heels so you don't detract or over complicate the outfit. On the collar there is some  embellishment, which I'm not really a fan of, but it looks like it could be easily taken off. Check this out at SheInside.

This is such a beautiful yellow, and with the appliqué lace detail it just looks gorgeous!  Ted Baker dresses are almost so lovely so I wasn't surprised to see this one was Ted Baker. This dress would be perfect to wear to any event casual or formal, as It think it sort of falls in-between these two categories of dresses. You  can pick this up from ASOS, it is no longer available from Ted Baker.

I thought I'd show both of these colours as they are both so awesome! The sweetheart neckline with the contrasting neon trim along the neckline and the collar makes the whole dress pop. My favourite one is the blue and the green as I am loving neon green right now! Both of these are available from Boohoo.

Again with neon green! I just can't get enough of it! Midi dresses that have a peplum are my favourite style for them, this is especially good if you are not very happy with your stomach, these will make you feel more comfortable with the tightness of the dress. I would style this exactly like how Missguided have styled it here, it looks very sophisticated a goes with the dress perfectly.

This dress is just beautiful, the lime green flowers -I hope count as neon- but they are just so cute! The rest of the fabric appears to be sheer which is so lovely and just makes the flowers stand out even more. Power of the Pastel Dresses.

After doing my 'War of the White Dresses' post, I thought it would be a good idea to do a trilogy featuring different trends for dresses during the Spring. No Spring would be complete without pastel dresses, I have to slap on some fake tan every time though, as pastel colours can really wash me out. I feel like the pastel trend isn't around quite as much as last year, but it'll always be a Spring must.

Now this dress, kills to trends at once! Pinafores are having a massive come back this Spring, and I can not wait to get my hands on some! This pastel sort-of peach colour just looks so cute with the already cute pinafore style. The only thing I would be worried about is that this could be seen as quite a childish colour, so with the pinafore as well, I could end up looking like a little kid! But adding some fierceness to it with a leather jacket would get rid of this problem. Check this out at New Look.

I love lace, especially when the sleeves are sheer. This beautiful salmon colour looks so good with the delicate lace, and the black belt splits up the paleness of the dress. I personally could not pull this off as there is not enough warmth in the colour for it to work with my skin tone. This is from Select for only £16.

This dress is so pretty, it's by far by favourite pastel colour. 

I have quite a few skater dresses, but this has the nicest shape to it that I have seen! Also the colour of it is just beautiful, mint is such a lovely colour. For the summer, with a black waist belt and some heeled black sandals, you have the perfect outfit. You can grab this dress from Missguided.

I think this dress counts as pastel doesn't it?! I don't even care though as I have to include it! Midi dresses are just incredible, I just don't think that I would be able to pull it off so I'm so short, but I'm definitely going to try it out. But anyway, this print is so beautiful and will really accentuate your hips. As it's from River Island it's a little pricey but it's so gorgeous who cares about the price! 

As some of you probably know, Prom season is coming up so when I saw this gorgeous I thought I should show you. This is amazing, the lilac contrasted with the metallic belt just makes the colour pop. Going through the whole Prom process myself I know it can be expensive but this dress being so beautiful and for only £44.99 is a bargain for a prom dress! This could even be worn to a garden party and you'd be the centre of attention, you can get this from Missguided.

Sticking withthe prom theme, if you fancied going for a short dress, this is just as nice as the previous one. The silver embellishment on the waist to the shoulders so just so lovely against the aqua blue. Pairing this with silver accessories would complete the outfit and be perfect for prom. Again at just a fraction of the price of non-highstreet dresses, New Look have done well.

War of the White Dresses.

Now, it's nearing the Summer and we are finally getting a peak of the very delayed Spring, so we are being bombarded by pale dresses at a frail attempt to show of any slight tan. I love a pastel coloured dress but I'm having a greater addition to white summery ones. They are around everywhere at the moment, I would love to include some from Primark but as they do not have a website I am presented with a problem. So if you're an addict like me then check out Primark!

I love basic, fun t-shirt dresses! This Others dress is just so cool -there's no other word for it- just awesome. I would tell you how to style it but I think ASOS have pretty much done what I have done with the styling. Some high-tops with a beanie is just the perfect way to wear for a t-shirt dress. And it's bang on trend with the monochrome looks.

Cut out maxi dresses are just beautiful and so classy. -You will see that cut out dresses play a large part in this post.- With lace detailing on the top and a gorgeous chiffon skirt, this is my idea of love. This would be perfect with bright shoes and a matching bag just the make to white stand out even more. I think this outfit would be ideal to wear for a romantic Summer date, or a fancy frock occasion. You can purchase this at New Look, -unfortunately it's not in the petite range.-

This really cute and stylish dress is perfect for a posh barbecue, or just to wear out to shopping by styling it down with a beige across the body bag, a long statement necklace and some beige brogues or gladiator sandals. The cut out detailing just makes the dress more interesting to look at by highlight the slimmest part of your waist. This dress is from Missguided.

This dress is so cute! It's probably the prettiest out of this post, but there's nothing wrong with that. The gorgeous embroidery at the top is just so eye catching, especially as the waist section is see-through showing  the pattern of it much clearer. I took a detour from the cut out pieces and went for some see-through lace instead. You can find this on H&M for only £20! -Which I think is a bargain!-

By now you're probably thinking, 'enough with the cut-out detail!' But that's just the problem I can't get enough of it, this time having the detailing on the shoulders gives it a more elegant feel and contrasts perfectly with the slightly sheer sleeves! It is a little pricey at £59 but it is very gorgeous I may consider paying it! This is from the American shop Romwe, but luckily they do free worldwide delivery, so get on it! 

I love the dresses with a sweetheart neckline and then a lace high-neck following down the arms, -so obviously this dress was going in the post as soon as I saw it!- What's just so amazing about it is the lace detailing is actually lace daisies which just makes me love it more! It's such a feminine dress, so if you wanted to toughen it up a leather gilet would be perfect. You can get this on Missguided, and while you're there check out this gilet from George!

This last dress is very unusual compared to the others, it almost reminds me of a nightie my Grandma would wear, but it pulls it off. Like the previous dress, there is a sort of sweetheart neckline but with sheer sleeves a chest which is very sophisticated. The collar embellished with pearls, I think, takes it across the boundary of a nightie to a really pretty Summers day dress. You can pick this up at ASOS.
